Refresh program

If you haven’t been diving for more than one year, we do suggest you attend a refresh program with one of our instructors: during our SSI Scuba Skills Update program you will have the opportunity to practice and review the scuba skills you learned in your open water diver class and learn techniques that may have changed. You will have the opportunity to refresh your memory and motor coordination, as well as practice your self-aid skills – all under the guidance of a dive leader.

You’ll use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, BCD and a scuba tank. The exposure protection you need will depend on the season.

Package includes:

1 theory briefing in Azul Diving Center’s classroom

1 dive in Quinta do Lorde swimming pool

1 “real” dive in the sea, maximum 60 mins, maximum depth: 12-18 mt

Complete scuba equipment

Tea&Coffee;

*For certified divers only

By attending our Scuba Skills Update program you will already have the opportunity to go and explore our house reef, just a few steps from our shop, but already inside the special protection area of Ponta de São Lourenço. This is an easy and lovely dive, interesting for beginners and experienced divers alike thanks to its volcanic caves and rock formations. Maximum depth is around 18 meters, but what makes this dive spot special is the variety of the bottom (sand, rocks, isolated blocks, caves) and the amazing biodiversity. Encounters with octopuses, barracudas, young groupers, garden eels, trumpet fish, rays, cuttlefish and moray eels are common. In addition, from time to time we have the chance to spot some amazing creatures, such as frogfish, huge round stingrays, seahorses or even the extremely elusive monk seal.

We do have different options to explore this beautiful dive spot, and we will be more than happy to accompany you in exploring both the west and east side, or discovering our “secret blocks”.

Our maximum dive time is 60 minutes (or 50 bars).
